Spooner Advocate- Springbrook/ Trego Column- July 9, 2015

Good morning! I sure hope that everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! Seems like there were a lot of people around the area. Have to say I had a quiet weekend at home, although there sure were alot of fireworks  going off in the neighborhood
July 17-19, 2015- 35th Annual Conference and Campout. Where? Seed Savers Exchange in Decorah, Iowa! If you have not attended this you are missing out!!! Hope to see some of you there!

If you have ever been to the Potter's Shed in Shell Lake you know how fun it can be!  They are a cafe/ coffee shop. Its a great place to take the kids where you can paint in the Creative Area. Occasionally they also have live music! Go check them out at or call at 715-468-4122

A happy birthday goes out to all the folks with July birthdays! If you are having a birthday this month remember you are special! There is no one quite like you! The Spooner Rodeo is right around the corner. July 9- 11. Held at the Spooner Fairgrounds. Thursday July 9th is Coca- Cola Family night! The rodeo is held rain or shine! To get tickets call 800-367-3306 or go check out the website

Have you heard about Hoofbeat Ridge Ranch in Springbrook? They are open 7 days a week for trail rides. They have some great looking horses over there and would love to take you on a guided tour of the area.They are located between Spooner ad Stone Lake on Hwy A, Stop in at W1650 County Hwy A- or give them a call at 715-939-0205.

Northwind Book and Fiber- 205 Walnut Street in Spooner are hosting some kids craft classes on Thursdays at 2:30 pm, June 25- July 30. Also Yarnapalooza 2 is coming on Sat July 18th! More information at or give them a call at 715-635-6811.

August 19-21, 2015- Return To First Medicines 2nd Annual Gathering. A Gathering for adults and children to learn about Sacred Medicines Growing Traditional Foods and how to care for our environment. This event will will be held at Fortune Bay Resort and Casino.

September 11-13, 2015- Wisconsin Sheep & Wool Festival,  Jefferson Fair Park, Jefferson, WI.

September 19, 2015 Knitting and Crocheting Extravaganza- 9-3 pm at Frederic High School. This years speakers are Sue Dodd, Elaine Owens and Carmella Crandell!
