Spooner Advocate: Springbrook/ Trego Column, February 19, 2015

Good morning! Hope this finds everyone out there doing great. We sure have had some colder days as well as some snow. I hope people are bring safe as well as checking on their neighbors that are home bound.

Our sympathies go out to Miller family at Lac Courte Oreilles. As well as those related to Autumn Martineau  (Fond du Lac) who walked on after a car accident in last weeks storm. Please keep these families in your prayers. Also please keep Carlton County, MN and the issues that are going on with the coroners office in your prayers. There has been alot of issues with two recent deaths of Indian people and what should be their religious rights to not have an autopsy. This has caused many issues, hurt feelings and disrespect with the Indian population. My thoughts and prayers are with all those who are fighting for their religious rights to take care of their loved ones in a traditional burial.
